What spider was this?

The spider you saw may have been a cane spider. The Cane Spider grows to the size of a softball and is known for chasing people around rooms and eating large insects like cockroaches. The Cane spider is, luckily, non venomous. I am so glad i was not in your position , for I'm petrified of spiders!
