Why is kobe considered the best player?

He's good at putting the ball in the basket but nowhere near being the best player. He is a renowned ballhog despite what people say and averages like 20+ shots taken despite only making 44%. He has gasol and bynum who average near 60 yet it's gasol who is the second shot taking leader on the team who averages 7 shots less than kobe. Why doesn't kobe feed pau more and get assists off of him if gasol scores at a higher percentage. He's not a natural playmaker and his small hands don't help him put the ball on the floor and create plays but shouldn't he feed his bigs more and run offense through them. Yes he scores many points but that's because he takes many shots. so is he overrated.
