What are cute, reasonable thank you gifts for friends?

My two best friends made my birthday amazing but spent entirely too much money on me. I want to thank them by giving them something in return. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! I was thinking maybe I could throw together little gift basket type things for them with little things rather than an actual gift. Or I don't know.
