Spiders in house with a 1 year old?

I live with my father-in-law and he refuses to spray the house for spiders. WE HAVE A TON OF THEM! I would be okay with that if i didn't have a 1 year old. I just killed a wolf spider and her babies near an area that my son plays in. I am worried that he might get a hold of the spiders and stick them in his mouth or that some might be poisonous and bite him. What can I do?
