Does the centipede, Scutigera coleoptrata bite/sting humans?

Common house centipedes don't bite. Some of the larger field centipedes have very impressive mandibles and can give you a nasty bite. If you have a lot of house centipedes it usually indicates a certain degree of dampness, probably in the basement.
